I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES f b Dan Lehan is sending the mares Bonnie M. and Brown Wing to the Golden Maxim Farm to be bred to Xerseise, the stallion owned by jockey Charles Kurtsinger. Brown Wing is the dam of Fern Creek, Lehans nominee for the Kentucky Derby. Kurt-singer said that the mare Our Margie, which he owns, has been bred to Head Play. B. C. Carpenter checked in at Churchill Downs with the horses Candescent and Natalie Mae. They came from Hot Springs. Jockey W. L. Johnson arrived here Friday and reported to Odie Clelland, trainer of the horses owned by Mrs. R. J. Murphy. Eleven horses trained by George Gould arrived at Churchill Downs Friday from Florida. At the same time several belonging to Milton Rieser, Dave Shaw and Jesse Spencer unloaded from the same point. T. C. Piatt was at Churchill Downs over the week-end to make plans for the transfer of his horses from Lexington. Piatt was to send three here in a day or so and seventeen more after the close of the Keeneland meeting. Ernest Hanke, an apprentice rider under contract to Frank P. Letellier, will be at Keeneland in time to accept mounts on opening day. James Graham Brown, Louisville hotel owner, who has a stable of horses in training at Churchill Downs, is a frequent visitor at the track. Tom Sanford is training his racers. Jockey Albert Bodiou, who rode with much success through the Oaklawn Park season, arrived in Louisville and reported to Leonard Wilson, trainer of the Lexbrook Stable.
