I BOWIE TURF NOTES j Joe Marks arrived from Miami and will stay several days before proceeding to New York. I H. C. "Doc" Riddle arrived from Miami and will stay for the meeting. I Lou and Mrs. Smith arrived from New j York for the week-end. The Rockingham 1 Park manager reported that preparations for the work at the New Hampshire track will be started shortly. Walter Carter is seeking the services of ,jockey M. Peters to pilot Clodidn in the Paumonok Handicap, opening day feature at Jamaica. J. P. Turner, Jr., arrived at Havre de Grace from Miami. He stated that Charles McLennan is due on Sunday. In the list of jockeys engaged to ride starters in the Maryland Handicap all will be striving for their first victory in that event. Starter Jim Miltons assistants at Havre de Grace reported that forty horses were schooled there during the morning hours. B. B. Rice arrived at Havre de Grace from New Orleans with sixteen horses he will race at that meeting. Jackie Davis was an arrival from Florida with four horses that were freshened up for Havre de Grace racing. A division of the Brandon Stable in charge of T. M. Waller arrived from Miami. Two apprentice allowances were waived Saturday afternoon. Heraldic in the second and Chancing in the sixth, were both piloted by more experienced riders. John B. Campbell vill leave here Thursday for New York to be on hand for the opening of the Jamaica meeting. George and Mrs. Hendrie of Hamilton, Ont., were among the clubhouse visitors and -will remain for several days. The fifth race on Thursdays program will be named the Wuthering Heights Handicap. A silver trophy presented by the local theater showing the film will be presented to the winning owner. At the conclusion of this meeting Fred McKay will ship Saving Grace to New York. The Starmount Stable numbering fourteen head arrived at Hare de Grace from Miami America First broke down in the final race Friday according to trainerHicks of the D. J. Sullivan stable. Bill Wallace was among the week-end arrivals and will leave for New York Sun-1 day.
