ORDER REINSTATEMENT I OF J. D. MIKEL a Judge Harry M. Fisher in Circuit Court has issued a mandamus commanding the Illinois Racing Commission to grant J. D. Mikel a trainers license. This, according to Attorney Charles J. Michal, who conducted the long drawn-out legal battle, will automatically restore Mikels standing as an owner and trainer. The Illinois Racing Commission, through secretary George Foster, announced that it would appeal the mandamus, which probably will delay issuance of the license for weeks or months, until the appeal is heard. The ban on Mikel was imposed August 15, 1935, at Lincoln Fields, when he was found guilty of racing the horse, My Bane, as a two-year-old, when according to the commission, the horse was a three-year-old. Mikel appealed his case in the Circuit Court, Appellate Court and Supreme Court. In each case the ruling of the commission was upheld.
