BID ON SECOND SUBWAY SECTION The firm of Merritt, Chapman and Scott of New York entered the lowest bid on the sixth section of the Chicago subway. This section was split into two contracts, one for the river crossing State Street subway and the other for a connection of the north side of this part and extending north to Illinois Street. The quoted price was 66,650.
