HIGH ACE, close up from the start, drew away from SISTINA in the stretch and, going gamely to tha finish, had little trouble winning. ELSTREE raced wide in the stretch, but continued gamely to the end. SHASTA BUDDY was always close up and finished well. LYSVNDER was in close quarters on the inside when lacking speed to keep up in the early part, but finished fairly well. SISTINA tired in the drive. KENT was close enough in the early running, but lugged in behind horses in the stretch. JESSIE CLOUD was taken up when in close quarters. IN RANGE came gamely after being in close quarters. BROTHER NIBS was shuffled back early and was outrun. REDCAR was also in early trouble, but made up ground. WARALII closed a gap. TRANSBIRD, well rated early, moved up steadily on the outside hearing the stretch turn, took command when straightened out for home and, drawing out gradually, won easily. ANHELATION dropped back early, then closed ground steadily and was going well at the finish. JACONUT saved ground in the stretch, but could not withstand the challenge of TRANSBIRD and tired. RODNEY PAN lacked early speed. KELCONARD, BAKERSTOWN and MR. FINN tired. WRACKFIELD bore to the outside fence on the back stretch and lost all chance. Scratched 72454 Joe Eaton, 118. WEGOWAY, much the best, was shut off when permitted to drop back in the first eighth, then came to the outside to move up steadily nearing the stretch turn and, despite being all over the track in the run home, won handily. RECOATNA bore out on the first turn, carrying LEE TORCH with her, then took a short lead on the back stretch and raced fairly well to the finish. DON GRAFTON came steadily in the final quarter and was racing well at the finish. ROYAL REIGH saved ground but was rather weaklyhandled. LEE TORCH and PORLEZZA tired.
