BROADKILL, away nicely, went into a clear lead early, was shaken up to stall of NALITA J. on the turn out of the back stretch and, drawing out readily, held SHANTIME safe in the closing drive. The latter moved up steadily after being permitted to fall back after the start and came through on the inside of the leaders in the stretch. ATTAINMENT raced forwardly under strong urging and continued willingly in the final issue. NALITA J. was a strong contender for five-eighths, then tired. SUNSET GIRL showed speed for three-eighths, then tired. INDIVIDUAL could not get into contention. PATTIE R. lacked speed. UPHOLDER did not fancy the footine. AUNT FLOR was outrun. WAR STREAK, never far from the leaders in the early running, moved up fast entering the stretch, crowded over on the leaders, causing a jam and -withstood a severe drive to get up right at the end, but was disqualified for fouling. EXPRESS set a good pace after getting to the front and withstood a drive gamely after meeting interference in the last eighth. HOLIDAY TEA was a keen factor throughout, but was crowded by WAR STREAK in the stretch and was forced back badly. CITY JUDGE came through on the inside when moving up, then lacked racing room in the stretch. DONA MONTEZ finished gamely, but was not dangerous. MAD DE MIE was held safe. OH FUDGE showed nothing. POLLY FAIR was used up early. TOWN LEAGUE was placed on the outside for the start and was done early. BUCK BENNY was badly outrun. Overweight War Streak, 2g pounds; Express, 4. SPITTENIMAGE was close up from the start, challenged gamely and finished resolutely. WOWO went in the first flight and came gamely in the final drive. GOLD KNIGHTESS, breaking slower than usual, lost much ground while improvinc her position. SWEEPING FLAME began swiftly, dropped back early, then failed to menace the leaders. HI GOLD was under pressure while going forwardly placed, but failed to keep up. OVER SUPPLY began flat-footed and was badly outrun. PROUD LASS tired after going three-eighths. TEDDY WEED was hustled vigorously to get into contention going to the first turn, followed closest to the pacemaker, withstood a tenacious drive gamely after engaging CO-SPORT and rallied strongly to get up right at the close while forcing BOBS BOYS out. The latter, going in his best form, followed close up m the early running, responded gamely in the stretch drive and fought it out stubbornly while being forced out near the close. A claim of foul was disallowed. OUR KETCHAM was eased off the pace early, responded well when placed to a drive and came full of run between horses at the end. NO SIR worked his way into contention on the outside and finished strongly. CO-SPORT opened up a long early lead, was given a breathing spell early, but tired under punishment in the stretch drive. XAVIER started slowly, but closed a big gap. MAERIEL could not get into contention. BUTTERMILK was done early. DNIEPER was outrun. YOUR BUDDY quit. FRANCESCO was outrun.
