AMERICANS REPORTED SAFE WASHINGTON, D. C, April 8. All Americans in Italian-invaded Albania were reported safe today, so far as is known, by the State Department, as Secretary of State Cordell Hull kept in close touch with President Roosevelt at Warm Springs, Ga., on the latest developments abroad. American Minister Hugh Grant at Tirana, the Albanian capital, cabled the State Department that he was contacting American residents, that some of them have gathered in the legation for safety and that, so far as is known, all are safe. There are a total of 233 American residents in the tiny Adriatic country. Many are scattered throughout the country.
