DENEMARK STRING SPLIT Twenty Horses Make Up Division for Chicago Campaign. Twenty-Seven En Route to Narragansett Park Under Care of Trainer Jack Carter. The mammoth stable of Mrs. Emil Dene-mark of Chicago, annually one of the ten leading money-winning establishments of the American turf, was split into two divisions Monday, the eastern string, numbering twenty-seven horses, boarding the cars for shipment to Narragansett Park. The other division, to be made up of twenty horses, will race throughout the season at Chicago tracks. This is the first time in some years that a Denemark division has been kept here entirely for Chicago racing. War Minstrel headed the, string now en route to Narragansett Park in charge of head trainer Jack Carter. Others making up the division included Finance, Savitar, Upstream, Kenyon C, Super Chief, Higher Cloud, Genie Palatine, Royal Bit, Court Dance, Uneasy, Flying Eagle, Schnozzle, Dorothy Rock, Caravel, Sweet Joan, Minimum, Charming, Muscatine, Swahili, Wood-lark, Corinto, Louis Shapiro, Great Bear, Fairy Hall, Two Bob and My Count. GLASSERS CHARGES. Trainer L. D. Glasser will have Melodist, Prairie Dog, Brown Feathers, Dressy, Vassal, Some Count, King Cotton, Souvenir, Two Bob, Army Banners, Army and Navy, Barograph and others in his Chicago division. From time to time, War Minstrel, Finance, Sweet Joan and Louis Shapiro will join his Chicago division for stakes to be run here, mostly at Arlington Park, Hawthorne, Lincoln Fields and Washington Park. Denemark stated today that he has not made up his mind about riders for the two divisions. The eastern string will campaign exclusively in New England, except during August, when many of the horses will go to Saratoga for stake engagements there. Mrs. Denemark will operate the Chicago half of the stable as she sees fit. Denemark, himself, will spend most of his time in the East with Carter and the eastern outfit. Glassers charges, now at Hawthorne, will be vanned to Lincoln Fields as soon as that track is available for training purposes. Schnozzle was named for Jimmy Durante, according to the Chicago owner, who said that the comedian himself requested the name.
