DERRINGER, LEE TO HURL The 1939 baseball season will open in Chi-mago today with the Cubs facing the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field. Bill Lee, ace member of the Cubs pitching staff last year when he won twenty-two games, will be on the mound for the North Siders, while the Reds, who are picked by many experts to win the pennant this year, will depend upon Paul Derringer, who hurled twenty-one victories in 1938.
