PREAKNESS STAKES HAS SIX SUPPLEMENTARY ENTRIES 4 BALTIMORE, Md., April 17 Six candidates for three-year-old honors, five colts and one filly, were made supplementary entries for the forty-ninth running of the Preakness Stakes, to be decided at Pimlico on Saturday, May 13. The six thoroughbreds placed in the Maryland Jockey Club classic at a fee of ,500 each, are: El Chico, Eight Thirty, Technician, Ciencia, Impound and Day Off. Ciencia is the lone filly. Speculation as to the number of supplementary entries had reached as high as nine, but with the Preakness only a month away early contenders have been dropping off and the six supplementary entries, plus some thirty odd continue eligibles, comprise the complete list of candidates. With the 0,000 added by the Maryland Jockey Club, the race is expected to gross well over 0,000 this year, retaining the position of Americas richest race for three-year olds.
