1 FAIRM0UNT PARK NOTES s C. Blair reached the scene with five horses, namely, Jockana, Muscle In, Lady Thirteen, Chilhee and Stealingaway. C. R. Parker also sent a quintet composed of Air Line, Makalaw, Onalark, Play-o-Mar and Little Reigh. C. Helm checked in three thoroughbreds Surprise Box, Ona Boy and Beau Thor. L. W. Kidd, who will race in these parts for the first time, brought in eleven, headed by Off Time, Prevaricate, Sky Wind, Athol-ton and American Emblem. Off Time, a High Time gelding, formerly raced for W. E. Boeing, Seattle plane manufacturer who now owns Porters Mite. Otto Grohs, who may be one of the stars of the riding brigade, accompanied the Kidd stable. The lad booted home nine winners, in addition to eighteen seconds and eleven thirds at Hot Springs recently. The Louis Greenfield Furrier Co. will put on a style fur show opening day, with models sporting the latest in spring wear. Greenfield, a prominent sportsman as well as furrier in St. Louis, put on similar shows here last year. J. Feeney unloaded five horses from Hot Springs, Hoursend, Sea Fox, Sis Royal, Le-ona Reigh and Stratagem. A steady drenching the track took Saturday morning in a three-hour rain, showed the fine drying out system worked out by track superintendent John Le Blanc. New ditches built around the oval quickly absorbed the water as it moved toward the rail. H. H. Chopin, a regular in these parts, unloaded Nervous Lady and Formax. Before leaving New Orleans, he had claimed from him the nice sprinter, Goster, winner of six races in the South. Leo Sylvester, former jockey and turf writer, came in from Hot Springs and plana to remain here throughout the meeting. Dave Emery, who holdi the contract on the clever apprentice, Earl Dew, will train five horses during the meeting. The string is now at Columbus.
