MERRITT RESTING EASILY SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 17. Jockey Ned Merritt was reported to be resting easily after undergoing an emergency appendectomy at a Palo Alto hospital. Merritt, rider for the E. H. Beezley stable, was stricken at the track Friday.
