CHALLEDON GOES 5-8 IN 1:01 HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 17. Trainer Louis J. Schaefer supervised the five furlongs workout of W. L. Branns Chal-ledon, one of the leading contenders for the Kentucky Derby, at Havre de Grace Sunday morning. Over a racing strip that was made slow by overnight rains the son of Challenger Laura Gal galloped the five-eighths in 1:01. The first half mile was covered in :48. A longerwork is in view for the W. L. Brann colt for the reason that some of the races for "which he was eligible failed to fill.
