CYCLE moved up on the inside on the far and stretch turns, responded to urging in the stretch and outlasted COBE in the final drive. The latter, on the outside all the way, bore out on the stretch turn, losing much ground, then finished resolutely. ELDEE, from a slow start, worked her way. up on the inside and closed "gamely. BRIGHT AND EARLY raced forwardly from the start and had no mishaps. HIJO MANSO closed ground in the stretch. STIPULATE showed a good performance. ALARMING had early speed. . CREDENCE showed a good performance. SEMAPHORE was not persevered with when he quit. RED TACK broke slowly from outside the stalls. REPERCUSSION had a flash of early speed. BALLAST REEF, quick to start and showing early speed, bore out on the stretch turn and carried SET wide, responded in the stretch and held MERRY KNIGHT safe in the final drive. The latter dwelt at the start and worked his way up steadily, went to the outside in the stretch and finished resolutely. SEASONAL saved much ground entering the stretch, then tired at the finish. SET forced the early pace, lost ground when carried wide, was taken up at the eighth post and sent to the inside. JACODRA showed early speed. TONYPANDY could not menace the leaders. THELLUSSON dropped back after the start, but responded gamely when placed under pressure and closed with a rush through the final eighth. . WHISPERER showed speed while saving ground, but tired in the final sixteenth. BLACK LEGION was placed under pressure in the stretch and finished fast. BOSTON FAIR was well up all the way and had no mishaps. MEDRANO was outrun early, but came to the outside in the stretch, then tired at the finish. CLARO raced well throughout. SPILLWAY lacked early speed, made his way up on the inside and, going to the outside in the stretch, closed stoutly. OUR KETCHAM followed the pace under steady restraint to the far turn, where he responded to urging and, moving up fast on the outside, disposed of SUN INPLAY and won under urging. STRABO was close up under restraint and, moving up when urged on the inside, came to the outside for the final eighth, but tired at the finish. SANDY BOOT, slow to start and outrun early, moved up gamely in the final quarter. CHALMAC was close up early, but did not menace the leaders in the stretch. DEVILS TEAK was eased back when OVERSIGHT assumed command and was not a factor thereafter. FLYING LANCER was sent into command at the start, showed speed and tired in the final eighth. BLACK DEMON began slowly, but closed well. MUCKRAKER had early j speed. STING RAY had no mishaps, SUBSTANTIAL was outrun. TIME PASSES had no mishaps.
