ADDIS ABABA, taken into the lead, could not withstand the challenge of the winner. ROPING, on the inside, closed gamely. DAWNING HOPE raced evenly most of the way but faltered at the end. TRUJILLO, wheeled to the outside after the break, but came in again and closed gamely to finish in a dead heat with the fast tiring W. COOKSON. The latter tired. THAT STUFF had no mishaps. MAZURKA quit. THEN SOME had no excuses. RICKETY JANES rider lost his stirrups at the start.. NEWS GIRL, fractious at the gate, tired in the stretch of its own efforts.
