EASTER WEEK SALES RISE Department store sales showed marked improvement for the week ending April 8, Easter week, according to the Federal Reserve Board report. Sales were up 22 per cent over the corresponding week last year. In the Seventh Federal Reserve . District, which comprises most of the Middle West, sales were 27.6 per cent over a year ago while in the preceding week a gain of 11 per cent was noted.
