UMPIEES President William Harridge, of the American League, has made the following umpire assignments for the opening games: New York at Washington on Monday, Moriarity, Hubbard, Rommel and Pipgras; Cleveland at St. Louis Tuesday, Kolls, Giesel and Rue; Chicago at Detroit Tuesday, McGowan, Quinn and Grieve; Washington at Philadelphia Tuesday, Moriarty,- Hubbard and Rommel; Boston at New York Tuesday, Ormsby, Summers, Basil and Pipgras.
