HASH IN WOODVALE PURSE Greentree Stables Kentucky Derby , Candidate Making First Start of Year Today at Lexington. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 17 Greentre Stables Hash, which has developed into a Kentucky Derby "dark horse" by virtue of excellent trials here, will make his first start of the season in the Woodvale Purse, the most interesting event on tomorrows program at Keeneland. Among the dozen overnight entrants and two on the also eligible list for the six furlongs dash are four other eligibles to the Churchill Downs feature, including J. C. Milams Opelika, a winner in promising fashion here last Thursday. Unsettled weather conditions prevailed here again today, the track being muddy, but a high wind blew and with no more rain the course may be good by tomorrow. The prediction is for fair and cooler weather. Another event engaging Derby eligibles is the Belair Purse, also at six furlongs, but for three-year-old maidens. Among the seven entrants are Decatur, a stablemate to Opelika, which was fourth when the latter graduated last week, and H. P. Headleys Ata-time, which went unplaced in the same event. The other Derby hopefuls in the Belair are F. P. Letelliers Southland Gem and the Shandon Farms Yankee Lad. The eligibles to the Derby in addition to Opelika among Hashs opponents are Calumet Farms Temulac, G. W. Peaks Scotch Trap and A. G. Tarns Joharie. Temulac also was a starter last Thursday, but went unplaced. Some likely juveniles may be included among the eight overnight entries for the Winona Purse, over the short half mile course, including Town Boy, Flying Mary, Merricks Place and Copin.
