JAPS HOLD FOUR ENGLISHMEN SHANGHAI, China, July 29. Japanese sailors today arrested and detained four men of the First Battalion of the crack British regiment of Seaforth Highlanders, as a British patrol began erecting a barbed wire barricade at the outskirts of the British defense sector in Shanghai. Reason for the arrests was not disclosed. The Japanese also seized a British army truck being used by the Highlanders in their defense preparations near the northern boundary of the International Settlement.
