i SEVEN BLENHEIM YEARLINGS First Get in America of Great Stallion Go to Saratoga. Band Included Among Sixty-Five Youngsters Consigned to Sales by Arthur B. Hancock. LEXINGTON, Ky., July 29. Seven yearlings by the imported stallion Blenheim II., representing that sires first get in America, will be among the sixty-five youngsters to be sold at Saratoga next month by Arthur B. Hancock, owner of Claiborne Stud in Kentucky and Ellerslie Stud in Virginia. Two of the seven are colts. Blenheim U. was purchased from the Aga Khan by an American syndicate for 50,000 and brought to the United States in 1936. He stands at Claiborne .Stud along with the other twelve stallions quartered there. The English-bred stallion is a son of the brilliant sire, Blandford, and since entering the stud 4n 1931, has had outstanding success. His sons include the Epsom Derby winner, Mahmoud, and the other stakes winning colts, Donatello H., which was unbeaten in Italy, and the "wonder horse" of that country, Pampeiro, Drap dOr, Mirza II., Vermeil n., Wyndham, Khan Bahadur, Le Grand Due and Stratosphere. BRILLIANT DAUGHTERS. Blenheim II. is also the sire of a number of brilliant stakes-winning fillies. His daughter, Acqua Forte, is the outstanding filly in Italy this season. Other stakes winning daughters of the imported sire include Blue Bear, Bente Mira, La-Li, Veracite, Queen of Simla, Belleheim, Yakimour, Vale-deh and Ocean Pride. One of the colts in the Claiborne-Ellerslie group is a bay son of Blenheim II. and imported Erne, by White Eagle. Erne is the dam of the stakes winners, Hadagal and Pansy Walker. Hadagal, whose first get raced last year, is proving a good sire, and Pansy Walker is a producer. The other colt by the same sire is by the imported mare, Asteria, which is a half-sister to Orlanda, which produced the 1938 French Derby winner, Cillas. Dams of the fillies by Blenheim H. in the consignment include mares which already have produced the stakes winners Risque, Riskulus, Great Union, Panther Creek and other good winners. In addition to Blenheim II., other stallions represented in the Claiborne-Ellerslie yearling consignment are: Sir Gallahad III., Gal-fant Fox, Stimulus, Pompey, Jacopo, Hard Tack, Reigh Count, Sickle, Diavolb, Brevity, Chance Shot, Royal Minstrel, Haste, Bubbling Over and others.
