Won driving; second and third the same. GOES FAST was sent into command at the start and opened up a safe lead, but was tiring fast at the end. DEVILS CRAG, much the best, was taken up at the start, then was placed under pressure rounding the far turn and finished extremely wide with a belated rush.. FULL STEAM was under restraint early and could r.ot menace the leaders at the end. COLD HARBOUR was well up early, but faltered at the finish. JAG was never a serious factor. CYCLE followedthe early pace under steady restraint, moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch, responded when urged and wore down DEVILS MATE in the final sixteenth. The latter was sent into command at the start, showed speed from the start, saved ground and tired at the end. EARLY EVENING was sent up on the outside rounding the stretch turn and closed ground fast at the end. ELWAWA came through on the inside nearing the stretch and had no mishaps. PEKAKI was well up early, then quit. HIGH BLAME quit at the end. HIJO MANSO had no excuses in the running. CHARMING HEROD was outrun from the start. THE CHIEF, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, faltered in the final drive. ISOLATER was outrun in the early stages, saved ground entering the stretch and hung at the. end. LADY MARYLAND lacked speed in the early stages and could not menace the leaders. INVADER faltered steadilv in the stretch. WISE BARRISTER had a flash of speed, then quit. BLOND SPOOK moved up with determination rounding the far turn, made a determined bid in the stretch and then quit. JADAAN showed an even effort all the way.
