BLAZING TORCH raced evenly and was in close quarters after reaching the stretch. D. D. McCARTY was unable to keep up. FRONT FENDER had no mishaps. WOODBRIDGE, reserved early, moved up rapidly when sent to the outside leaving the back stretch, responded to strong urging while racing on the outside in the drive and won with something to spare. MATURE took command at once, was placed in hand when outrun, came again approaching the final quarter and was unable to hold the winner, but was best of the others. SLEEP ALONG saved ground for saven-eighths and held on well. BLIND HOPE, hustled along from the start, was unable to draw clear after reaching the lead and tired rapidly after reaching the final eighth. TONEYS GIRL was unable to hold her early contending position. KAPENA showed little. DORIS B. was done early. OPOCA quit. Scratched 64578Prince Reno, 109. WHAT A PAL, well up from the start and reserved when outrun, improved her position when ready, was in close quarters approaching the final quarter, came fast when clear and, wearing down UPSET MACAW when inside the final forty yards, won drawing away. , UPSET MACAW improved his position on the outside, moved into command entering the stretch, was unable to draw clear and tired in the last stages. THISTLE RED moved forward after a half mile and tired after offering a hold bid midway of the stretch. MARGARET G. tired in the drive. NOAJEAN was done after a half mile. MINT FLAVOR quit.
