CCURTISS, away fast, ran into a commanding lead without-need of strong urging, came wide into the stretch and increasing his advantage under hustling tactics, held sway to win with something left. CLOUDY WEATHER raced very wide from and held well. MEMPHIS LAD was a factor from the the start, was under pressure in the final quarter on start and held on determinedly in the final drive. DELTA DAN began slowly, saved much go then made , a bid in the stretch, but faltered in the late stages. DAWN PORTAGE was held safe. FRITTER SUN quit. CHIEFS --, DftV BOY, on the inside throughout and kept in hand for a half mile, wore down ALL STEELE under energetic riding and came away -1 gradually in the final eighth, but, ridden out, had little left. ALL STEELE, taken in hand after opening up a good margin in the first quarter, drifted out slightly when entering the stretch and continued gamely when challenged but gave way badly in the last fifty yards. MISMARK, a forward factor from the start, lost some ground and was held safe in the drive. ALROSE closed well. MY CREST began slowly and was unable to reach the leaders. OFF AT 3:15 CENTRAL WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. HIGH TALENT, away in good shape, raced wide rounding the far turn and, under a hard drive all through the final eighth, got up in the last few yards to win going away. GO HOME, hustled along early, took command in the first seventy yards, set all the pace while saving ground and finished strongly under urging, but could not-hold the winner. FIVE FIFTY, a forward factor from the start, made a strong bid for the lead after reaching the final quarter and held on determinedly to the final sixteenth, then tired. SKY DOG, never far from the leaders, was rushed upon the inside after reaching the stretch, held on gamely to the last eighth, then tired slightly when he went slightly lame. LITTLETOWN was rushed tP the front at once, set all his own pace under urging and, having plenty left, was drawing away at the finish. WATER TOWER, always in closest pursuit of the winner, closed gamely in the final eighth, but was no match for the winner. REX-AVIS raced strongly for the first quarter while racing between horses and was tiring near the end. SABOTEUR, very slow to settle in stride, finished gamely in the last eighth while saving ground. MISS -MILITANT, a bit slow to settle into stride, was rushed up on the outside rounding the far turn, was steered to the inside after reaching the stretch and, under a drive in the final sixteenth, came on to win going away. PUTITTHERE, hustled along from the start, forged to the front going to the far turn, bore out slightly entering the stretch, then finished strongly under a drive to save the place narrowly. HARKIM, well up early, dropped back slightly entering the stretch when in close quarters and was coming again at the end. FAYWOOD was taken up soon after the start, was rushed up on the inside rounding the final turn, but was blocked and had no chance thereafter. SAFETY LIGHT showed in front for a quarter, then tired. FIRST PRIZE, well up from the start, forged to the front after going a half mile and, under mild urging, drew away in the final eighth to win easily. EPOLA, always within striking distance of the leaders, closed steadily after reaching the stretch and got up in the last few strides to get the plae narrowly. ELBASAN, well back for a quarter, closed steadily while saving ground rounding the final turn and was going strongly at the end. MASCULINE, a forward factor early, dropped back slightly rounding the stretch turn and was coming again in the final sixteenth. HERMINA B. took command at once and, under good rating, drew away into a long lead after reaching the back stretch, held her advantage to the final eighth, then had to be shaken up to hold the swiftly closing WAYRIEL. The latter propped for an instant as the break came, moved up steadily after reaching the final half mile and was closing on the winner near the finish. HAPPY KHAYYAM was in closest pursuit of the winner for a half mile, then tired FAY D. showed nothing. OAKMONT and JAY BEE DEE were always far back. Corrected weight Wayriel, 106. VIRGINIA ROSE, outrun in the early stages, moved up swiftly under ureing rounding the stretch turn, wore down BUSS midway of the home stretch and under a drive came on to win going away. PICK OUT, well up in the first half mile, dropped back slightly after entering the final quarter, then came again in the last sixteenth to take the place ! nT BUSS took command in the first sixteenth, set the pace to the final quarter, then tired. UON raced evenly but was never able to threaten the leaders. SAM ALEXANDER had some early speed, j then tired. KINGS ERRORS saddle slipped and she- pulled up sore. Scratched 23399 Alpolly, 105.
