Neves Allergic to Ambulances ELMONT, L. I., N. Y., May 19. Jockey Ralph Neves doesnt mind occasional falls thats part of a riders business but he is allergic to ambulances. When the medicos wagon was summoned yesterday, Neves pleaded: "Dont put me in that, put me in Mr. Cassidys wagon, please. I dont like those ambulances." Neves, who was pronounced dead after a fall at Santa Anita, revived to resume his career, which has been noted for its daring and willingness to chance the smallest opening in a flying field. Patrol judges who have officiated in the West, where Neves was one of the stars forseveral years, insist that the Portuguese-American is not a rough rider, but just a persistent daredevil. Neves will be back in the saddle withing the next few days.
