| Sugar Palm Packs 139 Pounds To Victory in Ascot Fixture By Special Correspondent NEWMARKET, England.— Maj. A. Bon-sors five-year-old gelding Sugar Plum turned in a fine weight-carrying performance when, under 139 pounds, he won the five-furlong Warren Row Stakes at Ascot on October 2. He conceded from 12 to 31 pounds to his rivals and gave 32 pounds to his nearest opponent, Mrs. J. Lipwicks Wild Wave, whom he beat by three-quarters of a length. A neck farther back in third place was King Georges speedy filly, Sunblind. who set most of the early pace. Sugar Palm, ridden by the Irish jockey, , Tommy Carey, and racing with rare game-ness, wore down the early pacesetters. Sun-blind and Wild Wave, to score his seventh success in his last eight tries. He is particularly partial to the Windsor course, I where he won six of his races.
