New York News and Notes JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., April 22. Thomas J. Healey, the veteran trainer and racing official, is resting at his Holm-dale farm. He plans a visit to Jamaica before the close of the meeting and prior to taking over his post at Delaware Park and â– Garden State as a steward. The horses owned by Jules Fink. Cincinnati, Ohio, patron, and in charge of trainer Lyle Thompson, arrived at Aqueduct from Florida. Jockey F. Thacker, who is under contract to J. A. Coburn, joined the large colony of riders now at the Jamaica course. He arrived from Mexico, where he rode during the past winter at the Aztec course. Charles Zoeller, assistant to Ross Higdon of the Woolford Farm, is on the ailing list. He is laid up with a severe cold, contracted during the rainy spell over the week-end. Sincere regret was expressed among horsemen "in this sector over the reported death of Maj. Tommy Hitchcock in England. He was well known to the present and past generation of racing men and was a frequent visitor at the tracks, especially during the Belmont and Saratoga meetings. Emmett Hileman was among the days visitors and distributed overnight condition books for the North Randall meeting. Jockey F. Maschek arrived to join the many riders now at the Metropolitan Jockey Club course. He expects to swing into action the early part of next week. The horses owned by Walter Jeffords ar- * rived at Belmont Park from the farm at Berlin, Md. They are in charge of trainer Oscar White. Word was received today that the S. D. Riddle entourage will leave the farm near Berlin, Md., next week for Belmont Park.
