Field of Ten Entered In Fort Custer Purse Wolf Duo of Surf Rider-Bonalita Expected to Be Favored in Dash F GRC JNDS, Det., Mich., . ?.— Several better than average attractions are listed for decision at the local racing grounds tomorrow, chief of which are the Fort Custer Purse and the Homer Purse. Both these events are at six furlongs, the Homer exclusively for three-year-olds, and the Fort Custer is to match four-year-olds and upward. One of *he best supporting numbers is the Hamilton Purse, which also is for four-year-olds and upward to clash at three-quarters of a mile. The Fort Custer is spotted seventh on the card and 10 fleet sprinters are engaged for the dash. Mrs. Lottie Wolfs colors are to be carried in the co-feature by her Surf Rider and Bonata and the entry is expected to receive strong support. Mrs. Earl H. Beezleys improved Bel Revere may go rather well in the Fort Custer and Mrs. Lillian Goldstines Ansted is accorded a good chance to attain major honors. Rounding out the field are My Zaca, Hep-cat, Lucky B., Toneys Ruler, Velvet Heels and Lostahat. Eight three-year-olds are named for the Homer and the race shapes up as a rather interesting number. Dearborn Stables Pere Markette, who raced impressively during the 1945 local season, will meet stiff opposition in such performers as the Ferrara and Valenti entry, Wow and Mrs. Valenti; P. R. and H. L. Hintons Skip Orr, and Sunawana; Raymond Akenbauers Cashier and E. Kohns Lantern. Skip Orr is a recent winner at the current meeting and Sunawana raced here in her only local start. Although only seven are entered in the Hamilton, the band appears well-matched and the sprint should produce keen sport. S. I. Crews Putitthere, Mrs. J. L. Chesneys Play Hands, and Kurkjian and Dilgers John Q. Public are sure to receive plenty of backing in the dash. Rounding out the probable starting field are Swoon, Boy-Plin, She Didnt and Claremont Miss. Two-year-old fillies are to meet in the Cuties Purse at five furlongs. A. F. Walls Heliotrope, who gave a splendid effort here in her only 1946 appearance, meets clever company in Bomar Stables Lady Mayflower, winner in her last start: River -mont Ranchs River Scotch, and Lost Creek Ranchs Flying Jenny. Volante, Sea Pigeon and Teegreetza complete the band that will answer the bugle for the junior miss offering.
