Will make amends against a field of ordinary maidens over a distance. VALDINA SINGER— Possesses plenty of sharp early speed and should handle a field of ,750 platers. Stable set to send him after big dough. MID VICTORY— Daughter of War Admiral is beginning to show some of the speed previously expected of her. Very sharp now. GREAT CARD— Needs a strong boy for best race. Has been bearing out. May take the lead against ,000 sprinters and never be headed. GIGOLBURY— Just failed to get up in recent race after being away slowly and meeting with all sorts of interference. CHESTY — Has been flashing some fancy foot against good sprinters, but has been tiring. Will come up with a big surprise within a few days. DIDEROD— Was left at the post three times before recent start when he flashed smart speed all the way, only to run up against the shifty Whose. Will find right spot. CREDENTIALS— Was bogged down on the rail where the going is very deep in recent start. Should beat the same kind next time out. CERBERUS — Old fellow has a load of class and is showing signs of returning to his best form. Prefers a distance and an off track. KINGS GLORY— Was severely impeded in recent race, then dashed to the front and showed excellent speed until he tired. Must go along next time. CUT THE CARDS— Toss out recent race. Was forced wide on the turn and lost all chance. There are several splendid spots in the book. ALAR — Continues to show speed both in morning and in afternoon, but has been running into tough luck. Shifty sort will find the right spot. LETTER V — Has been running in poor luck recently. Will find a softie and itll be Katie Bar the Door. Can either sprint or go over a distance. INTRIGUING— This ,000 three-year-old was well meant in recent race, but missed when Miami Moon came along with a fine effort. Follow. By D. S. Fair Det BIG MEAL — Hard-hitting mare prefers "off" track for her best effort. Eligible to six-furlong allowance race. ANNIES REPLY— Trifle short when defeated here Memorial Day and she will improve off that effort. PRANCING TED— Victim of bad racing luck when beaten in initial local outing and he is capable of whipping same class field. PETES KID — Ordinary plater gave good account of himself in last start and should visit winners circle after meeting cheap field at mile or over. PASSAGEWAY Better than — - - average sprinter is at peak form and morning trials suggest early victory. SUNAWANA — Well-conformed three-year-old filly raced impressively in only local appearance and she is eligible to good spot. HEYDAY — Just missed in only start and that race should serve as tightener for graduation victory. MISS BOO — Consistent filly when matched with ,500 company and she is expected to go well in next effort. POLARIS — Aged plater suffered interference when beaten by Connaught and he may reverse that decision with better break in racing luck. BIG BOZO— Hard-hitting plater is in good hands and he is expected to earn a purse here when pitted with ,500 rivals at six furlongs. STIPPLER— Partial to the turf course and just missed in his only 1946 outing here over the grass. FOUR DEEP— Quick sprinter is reaching top form and worked a handy half mile Friday morning in A9Vs. LEES SUMMIT— Useful sprinter likes the Detroit track and he stepped five furlongs in 1:01%. MEAT BALL — Mud moves this router up several notches and he should annex a purse here when sent mile and one -sixteenth against mediocre company. PLAY HANDS— Pitched a bit too high in recent starts but she will be dangerous when dropped in with her own kind. JOHNS PRIDE— One of the best two-year-olds quartered at the Motor City track and he is being pointed for several juvenile features. By A. E. Brown Suf FIRST SENTRY— A promising juvenile from the string of R. W. Collins who should not tarry in the non-winners ranks. BOY SOLDIER— A grade D performer that will find a field he can handle. Recent efforts indicate the Jamestown gelding is rounding to top form. CROTCHETY— Trainer Herb Fisher has this one ready for a winning performance. ► May have needed that last try to complete her conditioning. LADY EGRET— H. Guy Bedwell has a fleet filly here and should not have any trouble placing her in a spot to annex brackets. Recent trials indicate she is ready at first asking. FLYSOLATE— This three-year-old colt is doing all asked of him in morning workouts to suggest that he is capable of taking the measure of a better-than-average field. DUE SPORT— An aging plater that is readying for a top try. Will catch a cheap field and reward the patience of his handlers. NAVY — Needs only to be dropped a notch in class to get back in winning stride. Has been up against it in recent attempts. AGRONOMIST— A four-year-old gelding who has been attracting attention of the split-second brigade. First time out may be the day. TURNTABLE— The Questionnaire gelding is doing all that is asked of him in the morning hours. Astute placing will do the trick. BLACK KNAVE— A fleet colt that retains the speed that he displayed at Kentucky this spring. Is being prepped for an early victory. XCITABLE— A beaten "good thing" that may make amends for her recent defeat. Figures to be right there against a fair band of three-year-old maidens. DIBBER — A cheap sprinter that showed signs of improvement in his only local appearance. May reward his backers with a fair mutuel. By C. J. Connors Aqu PLUCKY MAID— Has early speed and can improve over her last start. SCRIBE— Not the best looker but showed a good effort in debut and can improve in similar company. PAPER CUP— On winter form can be a factor from now on. MISLEADER— Was forced to race on the outside last out. OATMEAL — Last was below best form of this one. Likes a route. CHARING PAT— Showed early speed in last start and may show to better advantage with racing. GRAND ADMIRAL— A winner in debut and may develop into one of our better two-year-olds. HAPPY LAND— Showed speed in only start and can improve over that with more racing. DARBY DELILAH— Has shown to better advantage than in last start. That was not best form. COMANCHE PEAK— Prefers mud but turned in a poor effort last out. NOTEWORTHY— Had something in trials, and raced well in recent starts. SAGUARO— Had a flash of early speed in last start but raced below expectations. SURIBACHI— Slow to settle in stride but a good finisher and will show to better advantage over a longer route. NANGEE— Swerved at start in last, then moved up fast. SILVER FOG— Showed a good effort in debut and is capable of showing improvement. By J. J. Hahn~F~P BOLINVAR— Has been knocking at the door. Capable of winning a sprint or going a distance of ground. TIDE WAY — Last two races indicate he is ready to take into camp a fair band of platers. Game and consistent. LEANORD G.— Waiting for a distance race. Showed excellent form at Sportsmans Park and should earn brackets in his next engagement. TINYS CHOICE— Racing right up there in allowance and handicap races. As sharp as hands can make it. BROADHEAD— Heres one who should romp home at good odds. Morning trials have been good and loves the local track. SHAWS PRIDE— May be the champion sprinter here this season. Needed last race, when beaten by Risky Hash. LOVE MARK— Has been sprinting, but prefers a distance of ground. Seldom fails to earn a purse here. EARLY N SMART— A goop performer when he raced in the silks of Calumet Farm. Closed fast in only start here and that trial should prep him for an early victory. ONE ATOM— A shifty two-year-old who may develop into the best youngster racing here. VERNON MISS — A cheap one who is ready to earn brackets in the near future. LAST WALTZ— Morning trials have been good on this one and dont be looking out of the window when it wins at long odds. BOBBYS PRIDE— Was in close quarters in first start here and barely failed to get up. Is capable of beating the same kind. JEAN BLITZ— Needs ,000 company. Is eligible to non-winners of two races in 1946. CHERO-KAID— Cant recommend tihs one too highly. Ready at first asking. CLOG — The local racing strip favors this one and with her first race of the year under her belt should take lots of beating in her next engagement. BLUE MOUNTAIN— A beaten favorite in first start here. Appeared short and may have needed that race. By W. A. Cruse Ran BEAMY — Third in a recent encounter with an ordinary field of sprinters. Needed this as a conditioner and will do better in the very near future. SHES BACK — Recent debut showed this one has early speed. Needs only to live up to this trial to turn in a winning effort. LACTOSE — Was sent a distance in last outing. Should do well with a fair grade of distance performers in the near future. LINBERG— Looks and acts fit and should do a lot of running with the right sort of company. SON RICH — Had a world of early speed in last outing. Needs only another race or so to lead them from wire to wire. PHAON — A victim of bad racing luck in last encounter. Will be there for brackets the next time out. MAINACRE — Weakened in last encounter. Should be a conditioner for better attempts very shortly. YOUR TIME— Victorious in initial debut here. Can be moved up in class and still enter the winners circle in the very near future. STINGING SAM — Clockers report the morning trials on this one as impressive. Should go well in first outing. VONCEIL — Has been training sharply. Last was good and should be , a sharp factor in next outing. STEALTHY— Will show to a better advantage if dropped a bit for the next encounter. NIKNOT — Has had a race that should have him conditioned for the winners circle the next outing. By E. P. Heagerty Del LOCK AND KEY— Graduated from the maiden ranks at first asking and appears capable of winning another. TRUE DREAM — Lugged in during his most recent race, in which he was second behind Glyndon Mac. Should graduate here. EASY CHAIR — Has shown good form since recent period of idleness and is about ready for a winning effort. DELMARVA — Not too much class here, but local trials are evidence enough of fitness. LOVEMENOW — Was not quite enough colt to participate against top-ranking three-year-olds, but should prove a frequent winner. HO DOWN — This plater has trained exceptionally well over the local strip and should garner a purse if sent over a distance of ground. SEA RAFT — Will be racing over his home course here and has been well-prepped for an early appearance. LANDLORD — Last race put this classy sprinter on edge for a set of brackets. Has been conditioned here for the past couple of weeks. MANCHAC — Toss out last race credited to this juvenile. He appeared to pull himself up when hit with a mud clod. STOLEN MELODY— Glen Riddle two-year-old appears to be a bit better than only two races would suggest. THE SHAKER— Lightly campaigned three-year-old who is capable of holding his own against some of the best. PLANE SHADOW— Showed improvement last out and may win a purse against ,000 routers. THE WING— Was a beaten favorite at six furlongs but may make amends when sent over a distance of ground. By W. C. Phillips Oma CAPTAIN RUTH— A long post delay dulled her lightning speed when she failed to reach the front in her last attempt. At five furlongs is able to outfoot the swift- GSt WHITCHTACK— After his easy triumph in the Memorial Day Handicap is considered the outstanding sprinter here. LADY HA V— Was off slowly and lost too much ground in her first outing. Old mare will score in a sprint at an early date. NEGO ELE— Will be difficult to stop when he is given a longer distance than in his first engagement, in which he was a fast-finishing second at five and one-half furlongs. ANNA TINO — Speedy mare was not tight when she showed so poorly in her last effort. Should outsprint cheap opposition. LITTLE GEROMO— Youngster raced very wide entering the stretch when he placed second in his initial start here. Experience will make him difficult for the best on the grounds. ROSSIE PRINCE— Proved his ability by an easy victory over swift competition. Will continue to improve against better company over any track. AMAZED — Sluggish early in his only out here. Is able to defeat much better class than beaten by on a sloppy or muddy track. VALDINA SUN— Will improve off his first race here. May score against better ones at a price. MARCHING FEET— Needed her first race. Gallant mare needs only to run to her races here last spring for an early-victory. TYRO LAD— Has never been at his best without one or two races to tighten him up. Do not let him surprise, as he can bpst tTiP bpst" SWINGY WINGY— Is capable of a much better effort than his first performance, in which he ran inconsistently. Will also improve over a route. ACE OF SPADES— Veteran plater displayed his sharpness by finishing second in a sprint his first attempt. Usually canont get into best stride until six fur-furlongs, but by a mile is finishing irresistibly.
