MISS OBLOCKY was sent up between horses with a rush after a slow start, gained contention after a half mile, then responded to pressure on the outside in the stretch to assume command and continued gamely to hold LA PATICA safe at the end. The latter was favorably placed from the beginning, moved up under steady urging in the stretch and just failed to catch the winner. FLYING JIM, forwardly placed in the first quarter, lost ground on the final turn, then came again when straightened for the drive. XCITABLE moved into contention with a rush on the outside, followed close behind the pace to midway of the stretch, then faltered. CROTCHETY saved ground throughout and had no mishap. FORGET-ME-NOT was unable to keep up. MISS LENA passed tiring horses. DOROTHY LOUISE broke slowly. DEER BOB dropped back after breaking in front and was never dangerous. BLIND BABY was outrun. EASY BLEND, in closest attendance of NOT TOMORROW while the latter was setting the early pace, assumed command when ready, then was shaken up when straightened in the stretch and drew out under steady pressure to hold SUN FLAME safe at the end. The latter was under steadying restraint while within striking distance of the early leaders, responded when put to a drive and made a determined challenge, then faltered. ROGUISH SHOT was sent up on the inside after the first quarter, loomed as a threat nearing the furlong pole, then weakened. SELCAP was under urging early to remain close to the pace on the outside, was forced to lose ground entering the stretch, then failed to gain under pressure. HEAD SEA was unable to keep up after breaking alertly. MADAME MAMIE raced evenly. NOT TOMORROW was not punished after tiring on the far turn. BATTLE 0 WITS trailed throughout. BORZOI was rushed up fast on the outside after the first quarter, came over sharply causing a jam, was straightened out, then assumed command and drew out to score easily. ZACS IMAGE, forwardly placed, was bothered slightly, recovered, then swerved in the stretch when clear. RUM RUNNER showed good speed from the beginning and drew clear, then weakened. SUN BEAU GO was outrun. BUSY COUNT was bothered by a loose horse and was eased during the final quarter while racing on the extreme outside. CHAITHAN was caught in close quarters on the turn, causing the boy to take up sharply, then the rider fell off when his mount stumbled. SILVER SWEEP, FRACTIOUS IN THE PADDOCK, BROKE AWAY FROM HIS GROOM AND RAN BACK TO THE STABLES. HE WAS ORDERED SCATCHED BY THE STEWARDS. SOVERTON, well handled while allowed to remain within striking distance of the pace, came around the leaders entering the stretch and wore down VIM inside the final sixteenth to draw out at the end. VIM was sent to the front soon after the beginning, maintained a clear advantage without urging, then was roused in the stretch, but was unable to deny the winners bid. GRANLAG was prominently placed on the outside from the beginning and had no excuse. MIANAMI was sent up fast in the first quarter, held on well to the final quarter, then weakened under pressure. KENGAR was unable to keep up. NEDIANA passed tiring horses at the end. PATTY KNOT moved up fast after the first quarter, then flattened out. ZACA MAN showed an even effort. BLUE YONDER, allowed to go along on his own courage for a half, was shaken up nearing the three-furlong post, continued to gain entering the stretch, caught FLAG DRILL nearing the sixteenth post and drew away with apparent ease. FLAG DRILL assumed command in the first quarter, was allowed to widen his advantage under a light hold to set a sizzling pace, then had nothing left when challenged by the winner, although much the best of the others. VASSALLO was under restraint for five furlongs, then made up ground under intermittent pressure. LUSTY TIDBIT saved ground throughout and had no mishap. KENDOR was outrun. MEL McCREADY was hustled going to the first turn, remained closest to the leader for a half, then retired steadily and was not persevered with in the final stages. VALDINA VICAR gradually improved his position going down the backstretch, saved ground entering the stretch and finished with good energy. LAND CRUISER was sent to the front soon after the start, was taken under restraint while remaining close to ONECBILL, then held on tenaciously to the end. DESERT BATTLE was sent up fast on the outside midway of the far turn, then falered. BILLS DOLL was-unable to reach the leaders. HO HUM, in closest attendance of the pace from the beginning, closed willingly in the drive under intermittent pressure LINK, on the outside entering the backstretch, was sent up fast after going five furlongs, moved into command and was hard ridden through the stretch. VALDIVIA was in a contending position nearing the final furlong, but failed to respond when urged. BUS V. Z passed tiring horses. ROTAMAL set the pace under a snug hold, then weakened when challenged. WISE TIMMIE failed to respond when called upon. JOBLOTS was through after the first quarter mile.
