Seven Clash in Lincoln Filly Feature Attracts Me Again And Breezy Louise Pair Expected to Vie for Favorites Role in Durazna Purse at Three-Quarters HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., June 3. — Queenly Durazna, who forced the "horse of the year," Busher, to the very limit before bowing in a special match race aft Washington Park last year, and who has been one of Illinois favorite young race mares since making her bow as a two-year-old, will be signally honored here tomorrow when the best offering on the program will carry her name. It is a three-quarter mile dash for three-year-old fillies who have not won a race other than claiming since April 10 and has attracted a fairly good field, which includes Mrs. L. S. Donovans Breezy Louise, Mrs. J. L. Oglesbys Mint Quest, Mr. and Mrs. M. Weils Knights Gift, A. Braxton 3 Come-Back, C. E. Crosbys Brown Dame, Brolite Farms Me Again, and J. D. Turners Dots Risk. Of the seven slated to face the starter, the overnight choices for the feature appear to be Me Again and Breezy Louise. A daughter of Menow-Miss Tony, by Black Tony, Me Again is one of the more highly regarded three-year-olds in the Brolite barn. While she has not raced in Illinois this season, she was toughened up by a hard training session during the Santa Anita meeting, where she got to the post once and showed a good performance in. the 5,000 Santa Susana Stakes. She finished fourth that afternoon to the exceedingly fleet filly. Enfilade, Honeymoon, and Lovonsite. while in back of her, were several promising young race mares. Shows Good Speed in Trials After a short freshening-up period, she was picked up by Trainer Ear! Porter and since then she is reported to have been showing good speed in her morning jaunts. Breezy Louise made her first start of the meeting last Saturday and displayed excellent speed, but was overmatched by the first class effort turned in by American Wave. She held on well enough, however, to finish second, and there were many in the stands who made the obesrvation that she may have been short. Trainer H. H. "Pete" Battle thinks she is a lassie of much quality as indicated by the fact that he has raced her in several stakes, having been beaten by such stalwarts as Beaugay, Bonnie Beryl, Enfilade, Buzzaround and others. Against the type of competition she t meets in the Durazna, she may carry her 1 brisk speed all the way. Mint Quest is another who holds a big ! hand in the sprint. The daughter of High Quest — Traumint has raced only once this year, and on that occasion she displayed 5 convincing mastery over an ordinary field 5 at Oaklawn Park, going to the front im- I mediately after the start and breezing the 5 remainder of the distance. That was her - first outing since last July at Washington - Park, when she fell while battling for the * lead in the stretch against a fairly good ■ field. She was injured that day and her 5 trainer, J. L. Oglesby, decided to give her e plenty of time to recover. She, too, has " worked well over the local strip and it may J be that she will reveal considerable racing ■ class. 0 The program tomorrow will be top-heavy l» with sprints, only two middle distance races s being booked. In the seventh platers will e compete at a mile and one -sixteenth, while the eighth will be contested at a mile and s one -eighth. ■ One of the more intriguing dashes on the II bill will find a field of nine two-year-olds s speeding over the five-furlong distance, and there are entered several youngsters, who * have shown some promise of developing into J first class racers. Booked to run are ? Bullish, Turf, Polonius, Reveal. Blue Seal, * Busybo, Bull Wagon, Campagnas Cal, and !j I News Report.
