HAPPY FORECAST was slow to begin and outrun early, moved up on the outside after rounding the stretch turn and closed with a rush. IF-IF, a prominent factor from the beginning, held on well to the end. BIG SUN was sent up through on the inside entering the stretch turn, assumed command and faltered. PANTER BRANCH made up some ground at the end. LAWRINSON raced evenly all the way. BOLLINGER had no mishap. STELLAS SUN was never a dangerous factor. BUSY EDITH A. dropped back steadily. QUEENS CHANCE was kept forwardly from the beginning, moved up stoutly entering the stretch turn, responded to pressure and drew away. FIGHTING LADY, a prominent factor from the beginning, made a determined bid entering the stretch, but hung near-ing the finish. AKRON GAL worked her way up steadily, came through on the inside entering the stretch and finished well. ALMA MATER showed an even effort. JET PLANE lacked early speed. WELL jumped well and showed speed on the flat, responded to urging in the late stages and drew away. NAYR was steadied along early, moved up fast entering the final quarter and hung. BINDER was away poorly and stumbled at the eighth fence, responded when urged, but could not menace the leaders. KITTIWHISK showed an even effort. GALA REIGH ran out of the course after making the fourth fence and showed speed, but tired. MACANUDO was under steady restraint early and saved ground, but did not extend himself after being bumped. CONTORTIONIST was outrun early and began to improve his position rounding to the stretch turn, then closed with a rush and outfinished OKEETEE. The latter was steadied along in the running, moved up fast on the outside rounding the stretch turn, crossed over in front of FARM MAN and JACK OF HEARTS and hung nearing the finish. JACK OF HEARTS propped at the start, improved his position and finished well. ICE LADY was used up forcing the pace with FARM MAN and tired. The latter showed a good effort. QUAKER was outrun early, but improved his position rounding the far turn, came to the outside for the stretch run and wore down MAGELLAN in the last stride. The latter was sent into command and was steadied along, but hung nearing the finish. ARMY MARCH improved his position when roused when sent to the outside entering the stretch, then finished in a dead-heat with YANKEE RAIDER.
