■ ; r [ i 5 I 5 John Paynes First Winner DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 3. — When the five-year-old gelding, Foss Barker, crossed the finish line a victor in the second race here today, he represented the first riding victory for apprentice John Payne of Logan, West Virginia. Payne, recently discharged from the Navy after two and one-half years of service, had ac-f cepted 40 mounts prior to his successful ride aboard Foss Barker. Payne returned to New York after todays program was concluded.
