BAR GRENADE was hustled into a short lead immediately after the start, saved ground and withstood a stiff challenge from ALOHA LEE, then lasted to hold VALDINA BINA safe. The latter, outrun early, moved around the leaders for the drive and, finishing wide, just failed to get up. ALOHA LEE raced with the winner on the outside and held on stubbornly. SURGEON DICK, always a forward factor, finished fast between horses. HARV AETHEL, never far back, hung on well. FOULARD was never dangerous. TRIPLANE quit. POLAR EVE had some early speed. SONNY HAYNES, away well, went to the front on the backstretch and held on stubbornly when challenged. GERANIUM, prominently placed from the start, moved up threateningly in the stretch, then hung. MEMORY BOSS, slow to settle into stride, improved her position gradually and finished stoutly. LOW BID raced evenly throughout HARRY 0. had early speed, made a stout bid on the turn, but flattened out DOC YAK closed well from a slow start WO WOOD flashed tarly speed. BEAU FIDDLER was hustled to the front at once, was steadied there throughout and held JACOPADES safe. The latter, a forward factor from the beginning, saved ground and hung on stubbornly. DIAVOLO CHIEF, in a contending position from the beginning but on the outside, moved up stoutly in the stretch, but was taken to the inside behind the leader, then finished stoutly. CHOCK ABLOCK lacked speed to match the early leaders and was unable to improve his position materially. JOE VALENTI, very sluggish early, was never dangerous. DOCTOR L.
