MAD SADIE was sent into command in the first quarter, drew out, saved ground and won with speed, in reserve. PILATES OWN, in closest attendance of the leader, was under steady pressure on the turn, loomed as a threat, then held on gamely when the winner pulled away. THRAX moved up fast on the outside nearing the turn to close willingly. RED AND BLACK had no mishap. RESOLUTION was unable to reach contention. HAGAR broke alertly, remained close to the pace until deep in the stretch, then faltered. NEW DEALER made a determined bid entering the stretch, then flattened out. HOUSE GUEST broke with the field, then dropped back and was never a factor. PEACE LIGHT broke tardily. SARATOGA POLLY showed nothing. ROYAL DIC, sluggish at the start, was sent up fast between horses in the first quarter, then flattened out and was not persevered with in the late stages. BUCKLE UP, rated behind the leaders for a half mile, moved up on the outside when ready, assumed command and drew out to win with the rider looking back. HER ANSWER, forwardly placed from the beginning, rallied under steady pressure in the drive to make a bid that was not good enough. STORMY BILL, under tight restraint while remaining close to the pace, closed willingly in the final furlong. ERIC KNIGHT disposed of REX HEROD after a half mile, then had nothing left to deny the winners bid and faltered under pressure. DANCING FIRE broke slowly, then made up ground on the inside to show a good effort. GRAND DAY was taken up sharply at the break, raced behind the field to the final .turn, then closed fast on the outside. REX HEROD quit. METTLESOME was unable to reach the leaders and pulled up sore. WAKE ROBIN, under steady pressure when outrun in the first half, came around the outside entering the stretch, continued to gain under stout handling and wore down SUN TALK in the final strides. The latter disposed of NOT TOMORROW after a quarter, saved ground without urging, then faltered in the final strides. AGRONOMIST, forwardly placed from the start, held on well, although no match for the top pair. MATTIE SUE raced evenly and had no mishap. SCOTCH TRAP showed nothing. MAROC raced very wide throughout. NOT TOMORROW quit after showing brief early speed. WEMITE was forwardly placed when she broke down. ROLL TWO outrun early, saved ground entering the stretch and finished with good energy In the final furlong. PLAYER LEE was forwardly placed, but was unable to reach the leader under urging. DREAMING showed good speed In setting the early pace, then weakened slightly. ELLENS GIFT showed nothing. MISS MARIETTA broke tardily, was rushed up fast on the outside, then faltered nearing the furlong pole MINOR PROPHET passed tiring horses. JANANN W. showed a dull effort. BOILERS ANN was outrun. ELLEN MIST, kept close to the pace under steady urging, responded to stout pressure while moving up on the outside in the stretch and was up in the final stride to nip HEARTH BROOM. The latter, in the thick of contention from the beginning, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, then assumed command and just failed to last. BRIGHT SIGNAL was under steady urging, disposed of FOUR QUEENS after a half mile, was roused after leaving the furlong pole, then faltered. NELL A. closed with a rush on the outside under strong handling. SKYLARK showed a good effort. VALDINA CRAFT saved ground while moving into contention, then failed to gain under intermittent pressure. HEYORTA had no excuse. FOX MASTER was outrun. SON OF TARRA broke tardily. FOUR QUEENS quit. LINK, outrun for a half, responded to stout handling while moving up on the outside, continued to gain when straightened in the stretch and was up in the final strides to nip WAR GLENN. The latter moved into contention with a rush nearing the quarter post, bore over on CREEPIN when challenging for the lead, then continued on under vigorous handling CREEPIN, well rated while following close behind the pace, moved into command entering the stretch and was going well when impeded. A claim of foul by the stewards was posted after deliberation and WAR GLENN was placed third and CREEPIN advanced to. second place. VALDINA VICAR saved ground while moving up but was unable to reach the leaders. OXFORD BLUE threatened entering the stretch, then faltered WEST-Wl0 m.I-,LEl weakened under pressure after setting the early pace. DARBY DIADEM passed tiring horses. OLD UNION showed nothing. The latter, going in improved form, was within striking distance of the leaders from the start rallied mildly entering the stretch and made a determined bid. JEEMS raced wide entering the stretch then closed willingly. PURE SILK raced evenly and had no mishap. TETRAFETTLE was sent to the front at once was steadied along to the final turn, then weakened under light pressure. FLYSOLATE failed to respond to steady urging. LA PATRICA showed nothing.
