Harold Keene Astride Five Winners at Suffolk Downs SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 28. Harold Keene, the Lowell, Mass., apprentice with red hair, was hotter than the weather this afternoon at Suffolk Downs, as he rode the winners of both ends of the Double and really hit the jackpot when he brought in A. R. Ryans Ellen Mist, almost 32 to 1, the winner of the Nahant, fifth and feature race, before 13,158 sunstroke defiers. As a matter of record the Ellen Mist triumph was his fourth in the first five races, because he not only rode the Double, but the winner of the third race. He missed in the fourth, when he hustled his mount right up there, but then his mount ran out of steam. He really had to do some slick riding in the six-furlong feature, as he rated the five-year-old chestnut mare by Tedious out of Nouveau Riches, and then came roaring down the stretch. Previously Keene rode E. Hawthornes Mad Sadie, an 11 to 1 shot in the first race; J. Beals Buckle Up, a 4 to 1 shot in the second, and Fairview Stables Wake Robin, second choice in the third. Apprentice Keene scored with his fifth Winner of the afternoon when he was successful with Cutler and Mavrides Gunbearer in the eighth race.
