Bridal Flower Entered in New Castle Winner of Gazelle Faces Five of Sex Mahmoudess, Surosa Give Bradley Miss Weight Over Route of Delaware Stake DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 28. Fillies and mares receive their major opportunity of the Delaware Park session with tomorrows renewal of the 5,000 New Castle Handicap, mile and a sixteenth event which features the final Saturday program. The 30-day meeting will be concluded with a gala holiday program on July 4, at which time the Dover Stakes for juveniles will be contested. While the New Castle field is-rather disappointing in quantity, it possesses enough quality to provide week-end visitors with an abundance of competition. Named overnight are Edward Riley Bradleys Bridal Flower, 111; Joseph Dushocks Mahmoudess, 114; Foxcatcher Farms Surosa, 114; Belair Studs Segula, 105; Mrs. G. R. Wat-kins Proposition, 102, and Mrs. George Fox Fair Ann, 101. Stars Pass Up Race Not one of the above-mentioned nominees came as a surprise, but officials of the Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association were rather disappointed that such stars of the division as Gallorette, Sea Snack, Bonnie Beryl, Hypnotic, Elpis, War Date and Plucky Maid declined to participate. Probably the favorites role in the New Castle will be filled by Bridal Flower, a daughter of Challenger II. Big Hurry, who is a gem of consistency. In five endeavors this season Bridal Flower has earned three purses, and had been second on the other two occasions. Her most impressive race was her most recent, in which she stepped a mile and a sixteenth in 1:46 in win1 ning the Gazelle Stakes at Aqueduct. Behind the Bradley filly on that occasion were Hypnotic and Bonnie Beryl, the gold dust twins of the Belair Stud. Abelardo DeLara, who has enjoyed a great deal of success with the Bradley stable, will be down to handle the saddle assignment.
