Betting Turnover in England At 8,000,000 for 170 Days LONDON, England, June 28 Reuters. The annual report of the English Race Course Betting Control Board to the Home Secretary revealed that for 170 racing days the total betting turnover amounted to. more than 8,000,000. This is an increase of close to 4,000,000 over the previous year, when only 68 days of racing were staged. The revenue from racing amounted to nearly ,500,000. The board has allocated approximately 00,000 toward rehabilitation and improving courses, about 20,000 toward increase of prize money and deducting cost of traveling ti meeting and 3,000 to the stewards of the Jockey Club, National Hunt Committee and Pon Turf Club for administrative purposes, and 8,000 has been set aside for the advancement and encouragement of veterinary science, and education.
