JUNIOR FOUR, in front from the beginning, increased his advantage gradually and won with speed to spare. PROBLEM CHILD was a forward factor throughout, was second with speed to spare and was best of the others. AMPERAGE raced with the pace all the way and weakened. INDUCTED moved into contention on the turn and tired. ECALLAW showed a dull race after being unable to assume an early lead. NEW HOUR tired early. CHANCE BRAS was outrun throughout. GENERAL WHISK moved into contention boldly after a mile and a half, obtained a commanding lead when ON THE CUFF fell and won easily. KENNEBUNK made a bad landing at the second, recovered well and outfinished CIRCUS. The latter jumped out at every fence, ran out on the turns and was generally unruly. BIG WRACK weakened after the final fence. ON THE CUFF was fighting it out for the lead when he fell at the fifteenth Jump. DRINTOWN, FIELDFARE and RICE CAKE fell at the ninth jump. VILLA NOVA improved her position boldly on the turn .assumed command in the early stretch and drew clear rapidly. BANNER BEARER was always a forward factor, but was no match for the winner. LIGHTFOOT LASS was taken under restraint after breaking very fast, drew clear on the turn, but weakened badly when challenged. TEDDY TARN made a bold rush too late. GILDED TRUMP weakened. MAINTAINING was knocked out of contention leaving the backstretch. BIG AFFAIR was fractious at the gate and broke very slowly. VELOCITY MISS was caught in close quarters on the inside leaving the half-mile post and lost her rider when knocked to her knees. Scratched Sun Prince, 118. Overweight Villa Nova, 1J pounds. GAUNTLET moved into the lead with a rush leaving the backstretch, drew clear rapidly and just lasted over PETER PALMER. The latter, very sluggish during the opening half mile, rallied well under extreme pressure and closed with a belated rush. VISOR was outdistanced and rallied well in the final quarter mile. ITAWAMBA weakened after racing in the runner-up position to the furlong pole. GHAZALA set the pace for about five furlongs and tired. SLIEVEMISH was forwardly placed while being steadied early and went to piece when set down for the drive. CASSET moved Into the first flight menacingly on the final turn, then flattened out. LEAVETAKING moved into contention , from the outside along the backstretch, assumed command at the furlong pole and drew clear to an easy win. FAMINE forged to the front nearing the half-mile pole and held on well when challenged, but was not good enough. PASTURE MOWLEE, outrun early, improved his position menacingly rounding the final turn, then faltered. CAMBRIC had no mishap. CAROLINA KING had speed to set the pace, but was through early. BRAGGART, steadied in the run to the first turn, saved ground while moving into contention and appeared to have sufficient room on the inside of the first two when he fell several yards before the furlong pole. The stewards issued the foul claimed sign lighted while they viewed the pictures, then made the result official. Overweight Leavetaking, 1 pound. Cambric claimed by G. R. Watkins. MARQUEST, hard held while just off the first flight for-the first mile, rallied on the outside while disposing of STINGPRICE and had enough in reserve to outlast HIGH PEAK. The latter raced forwardly placed from the start and was second best. STINGPRICE was well reserved while just off the leader, but weakened under pressure. MARCH CHICK rallied only mildly.
