New Jersey Governor Orders Records of Tracks Audited TRENTON, N. J., May 14.— Gov. Alfred E. Driscoll has ordered an audit of the 1946 financial records of New Jerseys three race tracks, required under state racing law amendments which he recently approved. The amendments, requiring yearly audits of the accounts of the Garden State, Atlantic City and Monmouth Park tracks, also provide a new tax formula, increasing the states share of racing revenue by ,000,000 in 1947. Driscoll directed State Taxation Commissioner Homer C. Zink to conduct the audit. Under the legislation, Zink also will devise a uniform system to be followed by the tracks in keeping financial accounts. The governor made no comment in ordering the audit, but he said previously that authority for the state to inspect the records would assure both the state and the tracks of "their fair share" of race track revenue. Driscoll revealed also that he has ar ranged a conference with State Senator Frank S. Farley, Atlantic City Republican, who sponsored last-minute changes in the racing amendments which reduced the share the Atlantic City track will pay by approximately 00,000. The governor said a definite date for the conference has not been fixed.
