ROSEMERE LIN sprinted into a commanding early lead, but was no match for the winner. POST TIME showed an even effort. DESERT ISLE failed to reach serious contention. IRISEN assumed the lead in the early stages, turned back the challenge of FARFALINA on the turn and won easily. FARFALINA weakened after challenging the leader on the turn. CALL VIOLET weakened slightly. POUSSETTE showed an even effort. 0. K. DORIS could not attain the early lead and tired. BRUNCH showed nothing. LADY PHARLET failed to rally. ALEGRIA was never a factor. GLYNDON MAC saved ground while forwardly placed, but was no match for the winner. WISE SUN, sluggish through the first half-mile, closed with a belated rush. STAGE SONG set the pace to the stretch, drifted out, then dropped back steadily. FIGAR0SE was shuffled back at the start and closed willingly. ONECBILL weakened after a half-mile. KANDY COMFORT drifted wide after assuming the lead entering the stretch, but managed to hold sway without strong pressure. CINCH was off alertly, but unable to keep up on the inside early, came between horses in the early stretch, but was not good enough. KENPLAY had the speed to assume the early lead, but faltered under pressure. ISTAN showed an even effort. STILL CHAMP failed to improve his position. The others were always well back. WITH HONOR moved through on the inside to take the lead at the half-mile pole, held sway thereafter and won with speed in reserve. MISS PRIME, steadied early, moved menacingly on the turn, but was no match for the winner. LAELIA showed good . speed to hold the lead almost to the half-mile pole and drifted out while tiring. LORD CALVERT offered the only serious contention, but was no match for the winner. DOG OSULLIVAN, far back early, rallied mildly nearing the stretch, but was not good enough. JIMMIE saved ground while showing in front from the start, drew clear when shaken up in the early stretch and withstood the late rush of RAMPART The latter, steadied when outrun early, rallied under pressure and was wearing down the top one. TONYS FIND, hard ridden to stay with the pace, weakened in the final test. THE DOGE showed early speed but could not keep up. FAIR ANN raced evenly. SWING SHIFT, steadied in the first flight, responded willingly to take command in the early stretch, then withstood a long drive by UNHEARD. The latter raced in contention throughout and hung after reaching the leader from the outside. WINGED HEELS faltered after setting the pace. ICE DANCER rallied mildly. BREVROME had speed in spots. TRUCE FLAG broke very tardily. LETTY weakened. MT. HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., May 14. — In a ruling released today by the track stewards, the purse of yesterdays fifth race was redistributed as follows: Mrs. S. S. Zells Desert Ruler, first; J. B. Roystons Whizz Happy, second; Calumet Farms Balanced, third, and Cedar Farms Old School, fourth. The original winner, H. L. Straus Pilaster, was found to be ineligible for the race, the conditions of which read: "For non-winners of two races other than maiden or claiming." Incidentally, Pilaster, after finishing first in the race, was forced to withstand a claim of foul by apprentice T. Spencer, rider of Desert Ruler.
