Slight Drop in Attendance For many years, Memorial Day has been the biggest day in racing, in point of attendance, at American tracks. Huge crowds turned out yesterday, but there was a slight falling off at every race course in comparison with last year. The aggregate attendance at 13 tracks was 361,293, whereas in 1946 the holiday throngs totaled 367,832 at 12 tracks.
