Cadillac Heads Program at Detroit Roi Rouge Choice Of Twelve Named Hollenbach Campaigner Has Diamond Dick, Ariel Ace And Many Lands to Beat FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 30. Following right on the heels of a crack holiday program, racing secretary Charles F. Henry has arranged a top-notch card for tomorrow at this Motor City course. Highlighting the eight races is the 0,000 Cadillac Handicap, a test at six furlongs that has attracted a dozen fleet sprinters. Heading the supporting races is the one mile and a sixteenth Black Gold Purse, in which nine hard-hitting three-year-olds will vie for a prize of ,000. Roi Rouge, who carried the silks of L. J. Hollenbach to a convincing triumph in the Boots and Saddle Handicap a week ago, has been assigned top impost of 117 pounds in the Cadillac, four more than he shouldered on opening day. The game son of Burgoo King came to local racing this year fresh from a coasting victory in the Coco Plum Purse, at Hialeah Park, and he should retain his good form to give a good account of himself again. Closest to Roi Rouge at the end of the Boots and Saddle, and named to oppose him again in the Cadillac, is Mrs. George Whites Diamond Dick, who set the pace to the stretch last week and was beaten less than two lengths. Diamond Dick again will carry 111 pounds. Detroit Stables Many Lands, who slipped through on the inside in the stretch, to be a fast-finishing third in the Boots and Saddle, drops one pound to 108 for the Cadillac. Not at Best Over Slow Track David Fergusons Ariel Ace was far from his best over the slow track last week when carrying top weight of 116 pounds to finish unplaced as favorite in the Boots and Saddle. The fleet son of Ariel had been an easy winner of a six-furlong race at Churchill Downs prior to his local appearance, and he gets a chance to atone under 115 pounds. In his Oaklawn Park campaign, he was undefeated in four starts. Carl Grahams Marltown is another who is capable of doing better than his performance in the Boots and Saddle indicates. R. S. McLaughlins Santa Claus comes recommended by a pair of victories during his Florida campaign. U. R. Smiths Annies Reply, unplaced in the opening day feature here, brought a creditable record from Kentucky to recommend her, and she will have Ray Anken-bauers Cashier as a running mate. Cashier toyed with her opponents to account for a six-furlong dash the other day, loping to an eight-length score over a heavy track, to attest her fitness. Theodore D. Buhls Crack Reward will make his seasonal debut in the Cadillac, under 111 pounds, and while his Florida record found him falling short of victory, he is an old favorite with local patrons, and has a definite fondness for this racing strip. Mrs. C. Valentis Spanish Play filly, Mrs. Valenti, comes from a successful campaign at Chicago, and has impressed work-watchers by excellent morning trials. Markey and Bohn have named Green Shed to the head-liner, and this filly may be better than generally thought. Mrs. B. Hernandez lightly-weighted Tit Tat Toe completes the Cadillac field. The sophomores in the Black Gold Purse are a particularly evenly matched lot. G. and G. Stables Quatre Blanc, second the other day, led in A. S. Higgins Well Wisher and Markey and Bohns Slamaranth, who will oppose the son of Quatre Bras n. again in the Black Gold. Mrs. B. Hernandez Charing Cross colt, Gallant Foot, set the early pace in his recent third at six furlongs, but weakened. A. J. Halliwells Joes Laddie was next after Gallant Foot at the end of that test, but was finishing fast from a slow beginning and might find favor with the additional distance. Reno Uptart has had a race over the course to perfect his condition. M. J. B. Stables Jaopades is an invader from Kentucky. Mrs. E. H. Beezley holds a strong hand in Reward All, who climaxed her Tanforan racing with two consecutive victories, while M. E. Reizens Ekard was a winner at New Orleans.
