GRANDCIAD had speed from the beginning, opened up a clear lead at once, was steadied in the toad off the rail for the better footing and was under hand urging to the end. HY SPREAD raced closest to the winner from the beginning, was placed to stout pressure in the stretch drive, but was unable to threaten. TIGER EXPRESS, slow to settle in stride, was rushed into closer contention between horses and finished well, but was not good enough. ARIANZA sluggish early, closed with a rush on the outside. QUICKKICK was never able to engage the leaders. MIAMI MOON could not keep up. ASTOUND did not enter serious contention at any stage. DON CHANCE had speed to the stretch, but quit. GYPSY ACTRESS raced forwardly placed and under restraint, responded well to move through between horses when roused in the stretch and drew out under pressure. DANSATION was steadied closest to the pace of CHISLAM on the outside, moved into a brief lead in the stretch, but could not match the bid of the winner. CHISLAM had speed to take command in the run for the first turn, drew clear, but weakened when challenged in the stretch. UNITRAN made a bid on the inside on the stretch turn, but hung. VESUVIUS improved his position gradually, swung slightly wide for racing room in the early stretch, drove between horses to take command and held sway under urging. DUTCHILL B., permitted to drop back early, moved up quickly on the final turn, challenged the winner strongly, but was not good enough. TOPLESS TOWER raced evenly and forwardly, but was unable to improve his position. KERRYGATOR, steadied forwardly for a half, moved to the front on the far turn, but weakened. MISS SIPPI was sent into a clear lead, but weakened when challenged. LENAS BOY, an early trailer, finished fast on the inside. MISS LYNN was unable to engage the leaders.
