Detroit Schooling Hours FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 12. — John Morrissey, starter at the Woodward Avenue racing grounds, announced today that schooling will take place daily except Sunday from the six-furlong chute. Educational sessions will get under way at 7 a. m. and continue until 9 a. m. Morrissey has a crack crew of assistants with him at the Pair Grounds this season. One of the younger officials in this country, Morrissey, who hails from Lexington, Kentucky, began his turf career as an assistant to his father, the late Harry Morrissey, who was regarded as one of the great starters of all time. Young Morrissey, a graduate veterinarian, is not only a top starter but has served as steward at several major tracks.
