LEADERSHIP was a forward factor from the start while on the outside, responded in the stretch run and came again to outfinish BRIGHT PLAYER. The latter raced close from the start and made 3 determined bid in the stretch run, but hung at the end. DAWN CAN was hustled along from the beginning and had no mishap. MAID OF KENT was well up and saved ground, but could not menace the leaders. KINGS COUP dropped back after the start, then failed to respond in the late stages. WEATHER 0. K. was slow to begin. SLICE displayed speed throughout, saved ground at the turns, shook off the opposition in the stretch run and drew away. BRIGHT COMET, under pressure turning for home, made a determined bid entering the final furlong, but could not menace the winner. ASTRODOME was sent up fast on the outside after the start, made a determined bid when urged, then faltered. POST CARD, on the inside all the way, ran in spots. BLUE LANTERN could not keep up. DEL was under steady restraint early, then moved up fast on the outside rounding the stretch turn, disposed of the leaders, but was held under pressure to the finish. LIBERTY ROAD, under restraint to the far turn, improved his position steadily and finished fast on the outside. BROWN FOX had early speed, raced ON THE RIVER into defeat, but was not unduly persevered with when beaten. ALACRITY closed some ground late. DESERT RULER was outrun to the stretch.
