Half of the Yankee injury list of eight — shortstop Phil Rizzuto, right fielder Mickey Mantle, second baseman Gerry Coleman and outfielder Hank Bauer — got into action. But four others — Joe DiMaggio, catchers Yogi Berra and Charlie Silvera, and pitcher Tom Byrne sat it out. It took a pair of Sox errors to set up the Yankee triumph after the Sox, helped by starting pitcher Frank Sheas wildness, 3, scored four runs in the opening inning. Chico Tallies Shea walked both Chico Carrasquel and d Paul Lehner, and Chico tallied on Orestes ;s Minosos double. Then Minoso advanced d and Lehner counted on Eddie Robinsons "s long foul, while Minoso scored on Al Za-rillas outfield fly. Jim Busby singled, i. I stole second and scored on Nelson Foxs s single. The Yankees took advantgae of Dick ,k Littlefields wildness thereafter. In the ie third, he walked three to fill the bases ■ twice and pinch hitter Bobby Brown, who had walked, scored on Johnny Mizes out- t- I field fly. , In the fifth the Yanks tallied three - times after two were out. McDougald Id singled and Mize and Jackie Jensen *j walked. Bill Johnsons ground ball hopped through Carrasquels legs to let two runs ■ in and when Hank Bauer singled as a pinch hitter, Jensen scored.
