De Luxe Starts Saturday In Governors Handicap All At Once, Scipio, Algasir Other Probables at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 2. — Frank Gilpin, trainer of True Davis, Jr.s, De Luxe, stated this morning that he intends to start the son of Bull Lea in Saturdays Governors Handicap. The former Calumet five-year-old will lend much lustre to the field which should comprise Scipio, All At Once, Algasir, Sedge-view, Dukes Gal, Mr. Joe Puck and Out-land, the latter a stablemate of Scipio. Although the Governors will be contested at six furlongs and the Davis stakes winner is at his best at middle distances, it should have little bearing on his chances against the noted speedsters expected to start. De Luxe is the type of thoroughbred who has proven very versatile and needs only to be in a running mood to be a threat at any distance. Especially, De Luxe runs well when fresh. Like De Luxe, All At Once has won important events at varied distances and last season accounted for the Empire City Handicap at a mile and three-sixteenths, then won a division of the Inaugural at Hialeah this winter. The Inaugural was at six furlongs. Among the eight expected starters in the week-end feature, De Luxe, All At Once, Dukes Gal, Scipio and Outland have won stakes in the past two years. The others in the line-up have been victorious in feature S events of less importance and keen factors in the blue ribboned class. Tomorrows off-day program at Suffolk !~ Ik Downs will feature the longest race of the "e current season. Seven mediocre older campaigners n" will vie at a mile and a quarter in in the sixth race. Reynolds Jr., Fair Strike, ce Flying Mile, Fulgara, Mon Torch, War 2 Ripple and Chock Ablock are all seasoned ed distance runners and should put on an an interesting contest.
