Georgetown and Indian River To Be Run Over Stakes Course 5£ STANTON, Del., May 2. — The executive ive committee of Delaware Park, following I a a meeting this afternoon, announced that the l_ track would continue to run the Georgetown =e" and Indian River Steeplechase handicaps id- over the big stakes course as has been ;en done without exception since these stakes tes were inaugurated in 1938. Racing secretary J. C. "Gil" Haus laid aid before the committee a request from I a a group of steeplechase horsemen that the the two 0,000 added fixtures to be run over ver the smaller inside course, saying they preferred ,re- it to the stiff er stakes course. The committee, after considering all all facts, felt it could not agree to such action, on, particularly since conditions of these races ices were made public several weeks ago with rith the release of the tracks stake blank books, ks, which called for these events to be run over ,ver the larger course. The conditions of these tese races were printed in the stakes nominations na- blanks issued to horsemen. Nominations na- close tomorrow.
