Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. FANFARE, bothered immediately ] after the start, recovered under steady handling and secured a good position, again suffered interference at the ■ upper turn, but came strongly when clear and, after disposing of the leaders, won but had little left. KING CLOVER was hustled to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then drifted to the inside -during the last sixteenth and impeded BERNWOOD, could not hold the winner, but was disqualified for fouling , and placed third. BERNWOOD, a sharp factor from the start, was racing prominently near the end when ] crowded by KING CLOVER and failed to recover when clear. BATTLE MORN lacked early speed, lost much ground while racing in the middle of the track, remained on the outside and closed willingly under mild urging. THE GINK, outrun to the stretch, finished strongly in a game effort. ABBE STING could not better his position when set down through the stretch. FIGHTING BACK lost ground at the stretch turn, bore to the inside during the drive and tired after making a mild bid. GOLDEN BIRCH was never prominent. BREVITE was through early. PUR SANG had a rough trip. SPUR ON could not keep up. KINGS HOPE quit after showing early speed. GAY HUNTER was overmatched. Won driving; second and third the same. SUNNYMAN, slow to reach his best stride, came between horses to take command entering the stretch and drew clear under brisk urging. KING DIVER was knocked back at the start when PABLIM broke to the inside, recovered gamely to enter contention nearing the furlong marker, but lacked a convincing rally. LITTLE DANNY was much used early and had little left. ETHEREAL swerved during the stretch run while interfering with VININA, was disqualified for fouling and was placed last. VININA was forced to take up repeatedly during the late stages when impeded by ETHEREAL. PABLIM broke to the inside and never threatened thereafter. Overweight— Vinina, 1 pound; Pablim, 1.
