HEAD STREAM, very well ridden and allowed to drop back after being hard pressed setting the pace for three furlongs, was taken to the outside entering the final furlong, came again under steady handling and proved best. SOSPIRO worked way forwardly on the inside from a sluggish start, was guided to the outside on the final turn and then finished fast J0LIRAB was urged into a commanding lead on the final turn, appeared safely in front in the stretch, then weakened suddenly. MINNEAPOLIS followed a wending course improving position and could not get up. LOTOFT0WN lacked sufficient room to move to the leaders early and tired. BEST TRICK faltered. ETERNAL WAY made a strong bid entering the stretch, then faltered suddenly. The others showed nothing. PINE VISION, steadied behind horses early and shuffled back midway of the first turns, came to the outside at the half mile and rallied strongly to take command entering the final furlong, then drifted to the inside while holding LATE SHIP safe. The latter began sluggishly, picked up speed after five furlongs, circled wide for the drive and finished fast. ONWARD MARCH saved ground entering a forward position, was under snug restraint moving to the front on the outside entering the stretch, then weakened when put to pressure. An objection lodged by the rider on ONWARD MARCH against PINE VISION was not allowed. SABOT saved ground showing speed and held on well. BICKER finished welt. MOMS CHOICE lost distance on the outside and was not a factor. MID-CHANNEL was hard pressed racing with the pace and quit. MISS HASTE, in close quarters early, had brief speed and quit. The latter swung wide into the stretch, then finished willingly. ARAG0N hesitated leaving the gate, was steadied running up behind horses midway of the turns, then came between horses and finished determinedly. SAUCY COLLEEN set the pace under excellent rating, then lasted under clever handling while drifting out slightly to best WHISK-OFF. The latter made repeated bids for the lead from the outside, then was coming strongly near the end, but was forced out slightly and just missed. THE SPANIEL, never far back, was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished determinedly under punishment. ZEELAND finished well. WIN MY WAY began sluggishly. TOY FOX was outrun. MUSIC raced prominently placed on the outside, then finished willingly, although no match for the winner. MASTER MIND began slowly, steadily improved position under urging and finished strongly. JOY C, unable to keep up after an alert beginning, held on well in the drive. CURTAIN TIME shortened stride when challenged by the winner and dropped jack swiftly through the stretch. UP BEAT was under steady urging while a keen contender from between horses, was put to extreme pressure for the final drive and just lasted to best B0L0 MACK. The latter swung to the outside of the leaders midway of the stretch, closed fast, but could not be effectively handled at Ue end while lugging in. CAROLINA MISS set most of the pace while between horses, drew clear at the furicng marker, weakened suddenly, but was coming again slightly in the last strides. MR. BUSTER, eased back slightly on the inside rounding into the stretch, faltered when put to pressure. WOODFORD SIR, away slowly, could not reach serious contention despite steady urging. DIRECTOIRE, allowed to settle in stride and saving ground, came to the outside nearing the leaders entering the stretch, then closed strongly while trying to drift in and was up in the last strides to catch ATTENTION MARK. The latter, nicely steadied close to the pace, assumed command "m the drive and held on gamely. COUNT VICTOR, eased back running up behind the leaders entering the backstretch, drove between them to reach the front after a half mile, then weakened only slightly in the drive. CUTTING EDGE lugged in badly and could not be ridden out in the last stages. JUNE PRINCE weakened gradually after showing speed. MARGE GEORGE swung wide into the stretch and faltered.
